Weekend, 6th & 7th September - Cancer Research UK - Relay for Life
24 hr event - Relay for Life is a relatively new event for Cancer Research UK and this is the first year that the event has been held in Portishead

Relay for Life is a chance for local teams of friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to get together for a great overnight event of celebration and commemoration.

Relay for Life is a celebration of survivorship and the event begins with our guests of honour, cancer survivors walking the first lap. Friends and family are invited to walk this first lap with the survisiors to show the progress and success of research and why we continue to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
After the first lap, each team member takes it in turns to walk, (skip, salsa or whatever else takes your fancy and gets you round) some laps. Each team tries to keep at least one member on the track at all times, whilst all around them a party is in full swing. the teams and their supporters can also enjoy the fun, carnival atmosphere going on round the clock for 24 hours!

Relay for life is the chance to do something different, something fun and something amazing in 2008!
